What the Instagram feed shows first
Instagram leads with the image and puts the caption under it, after your handle. The feed shows about 125 characters before ... more, so the caption opening works like a headline.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my Instagram caption get cut off?
The feed shows about 125 characters or two lines. Readers tap ... more to see the rest, so the first line has to earn the tap.
Is the preview exact?
Close, not pixel perfect. Instagram sets its own fonts and widths per device, so the cut can move by a few words between phones.
Is my text or image uploaded anywhere?
No. The tool runs in your browser. Nothing you type or choose is sent to Distinctful or stored.
