How the splitter decides where to break
It keeps paragraphs together when they fit, then breaks between sentences, then between words. Numbering takes a few characters, so the splitter reserves room for it before it packs each post under Threads's 500 character limit. Threads counts visible characters, with links at their full length. Emoji take more room than letters.
