Saves

Actions that bookmark a social post so a user can find it again later.

A save lets someone keep a post in a platform’s saved or bookmarked collection. It differs from a share: saving is primarily a way to return to content, while sharing sends or republishes it for others. Available save metrics vary by platform.

A reader might save a packing checklist before a trip or a writing exercise they plan to try later. A post that receives saves may be useful reference material, but the action does not establish that the reader returned or completed the exercise.

Compare saves across similar formats and observation periods. If calculating a save rate, state whether you divide by reach, impressions, or another count. Saves do not have a universal ranking weight and should not be treated as a guarantee of future distribution.
