Email marketing
Using permission-based email to inform an audience, build relationships, and encourage actions such as reading, registering, or buying.
Email marketing includes newsletters, product announcements, educational sequences, and promotional campaigns sent to people who have agreed to hear from a sender. A campaign starts with an audience and a purpose: help a new subscriber get oriented, invite customers to an event, or explain an offer.
A course creator might send a weekly teaching newsletter and a separate launch campaign for an advanced workshop. The newsletter builds an ongoing reading habit; the campaign has a specific registration goal and end date. Both belong to email marketing.
Email marketing differs from transactional email, which supports a specific interaction such as a purchase receipt or password reset. Sending more messages is not itself a strategy. Match the message, audience, and frequency to the expectations set when people signed up.
