Organic reach

The number of unique accounts shown content through unpaid distribution on a platform.

Organic reach describes distribution without paying to promote the content. It can come from followers’ feeds, recommendations, shares, profile visits, or platform search. The reporting platform determines which views qualify and how it estimates unique accounts.

If a post reaches 800 unique accounts without promotion and later receives paid distribution, compare organic and paid figures using the platform’s definitions. The two audiences may overlap, so adding the reported counts may overstate the total unique audience.

Organic does not mean effortless or guaranteed. Content creation and community work still take resources. Compare similar formats and time windows, and use reach to understand exposure rather than treating it as evidence that every person read or remembered the post.
