Newsletter sponsorship
An arrangement in which an advertiser pays for a placement or association within a newsletter.
A newsletter sponsorship gives an advertiser a defined placement, such as a clearly labeled message in an edition. The agreement specifies what is included, when it appears, and what reporting is available. Some placements use a fixed price; others use an agreed delivery or performance basis.
A gardening publication might include a sponsored message from a tool maker relevant to its readers. The placement should be identifiable as sponsored, and the publication should distinguish advertiser claims from its own editorial advice.
A sponsor pays to reach an audience; paid newsletter subscribers pay for access to content. Report only metrics that can be supported and avoid promising purchases from a placement when tracking cannot establish them.
