Timeline Blocker for X

Post without the feed. Drag one bookmarklet to your bookmarks bar and X opens quiet: no timeline, no trends, no suggested follows. Click it again and everything comes back.

What to hide

Honest note

X can rename its internal selectors at any time, which would stop parts of this from hiding until the selectors are updated. The bookmarklet only affects the page you click it on. Nothing is installed, nothing is tracked, and no request leaves your browser.

What the blocker can hide

Why hide the timeline at all

If you publish on X to grow a business, the feed is where your posting time goes to die. You open the site to ship one post, the timeline offers you forty reasons to stay, and the writing session becomes a scrolling session. A timeline blocker separates the two jobs: publishing stays, consumption goes. This one is a bookmarklet, which means nothing is installed, nothing runs in the background, and nothing is tracked. It injects a small piece of styling into the page you are looking at, hides the regions you selected, and puts a quiet note where the feed used to be. Click it again and X is back to normal. The discipline is not in the tool, it is in the habit: open X, post, reply to what matters, leave.

Questions and answers

Is this an extension? Does it install anything?

No. It is a bookmarklet: a bookmark whose address is a tiny script. It only runs when you click it, only affects the page you are on, sends nothing anywhere, and uninstalling it means deleting a bookmark.

Does it work on mobile?

Bookmarklets are desktop-first. On iOS Safari you can run one by saving it as a bookmark and opening it from the address bar suggestions, but the smoother experience is on a desktop browser where the bookmarks bar is one click away.

Will it break when X changes its design?

It can. The bookmarklet targets the page structure X uses today, and X renames things from time to time. When that happens, come back and grab a fresh copy. Because nothing is installed, updating is just replacing the bookmark.

Can I still see notifications and messages?

Yes. Navigation, notifications, messages, and your own profile stay available. By default the blocker only hides the home feed, trends, and follow suggestions. Badge counts stay visible unless you toggle them off.
