MCP server

Connect Claude, Codex, Muse by Meta, or any MCP client to Distinctful with the hosted MCP server and OAuth sign-in.

MCP is an open protocol that lets AI tools use outside apps on your behalf. Distinctful hosts an MCP server, so there is nothing to install and no API key to manage.

Remote MCP server

Distinctful hosts the MCP server at:

Server address
https://app.distinctful.com/api/mcp

Connect any MCP client that supports remote servers over Streamable HTTP. When you connect, your client opens a browser window where you sign in to Distinctful and approve access with OAuth.

Connect your client

Each tab matches the setup on that client’s page.

  1. In Claude on the web or desktop, open Customize, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Paste the server address, sign in to Distinctful, and approve access.
  3. Turn the connector on in a chat and ask Claude to plan your week.

See the Claude page.

Sign-in and access

The consent screen lists what your client can do before you approve it. MCP access is included on the Grow plan and higher. Sessions refresh on their own for clients that support it; others ask you to approve again after an hour.

Planning posts

Connected tools can create a draft and plan it onto your calendar for a date and platforms. Open it in Distinctful to schedule it. See every MCP tool for the full list of what a client can read and write.

Limits and retries

Each Distinctful allows 30 reads, 20 writes, and 10 removals a minute across all connected tools. Every error comes back as JSON with a code, so your client knows whether to wait or stop.

RATE_LIMITEDOver the limit. Wait retryAfterSeconds, then retry.
LIMITER_UNAVAILABLELimits could not be checked, so nothing ran. Retry shortly.
IN_PROGRESSA call with this idempotencyKey is still running. Retry with the same key.
IDEMPOTENCY_KEY_REUSEDThe key was used for a different request. Use a new key.

Tools that create something accept an idempotencyKey. Send a new key for each new write and the same key when you retry one. If the first call went through, Distinctful returns its original result instead of creating a duplicate.

Revoke access

Open Settings in Distinctful, go to Integrations, and revoke the client under connected agents. Access ends within a minute.
